Donaldson to give up knighthood and seat on Privy Council

Former DUP leader and now convicted child molester Jeffrey Donaldson has called for his knighthood to be forfeited.
He also tendered his resignation from the Privy Council with immediate effect.
The moves were confirmed in a statement released by his lawyer, John McBurney.
He wrote: “This afternoon I sent a letter signed by Jeffrey Donaldson to the Cabinet Office, stating his request to renounce and relinquish his knighthood.”
On Monday, Donaldson was found guilty of 18 counts of sexual abuse, including a rape of two women when they were children.
The statement continued: “This afternoon I sent a letter signed by Jeffrey Donaldson to the Privy Council office offering his resignation from the Privy Council, effective immediately.”
