Donkarayi power house undergoes major overhaul after 13 years

The single 25 MW hydroelectric power unit at the Donkarayi canal power plant on the Andhra-Odisha border is buzzing with activity as scores of engineers and workers have completely revamped it after 13 years.

This unit was commissioned in 1983 and is currently undergoing a major overhaul, with the last renovation taking place in 2012.
