Door County Sheriff pulls over speeding driver, finds flashlight in place of missing headlight
DOOR COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Door County authorities issued a reminder after a deputy pulled over a driver for speeding and found an extremely rare problem with the vehicle.

Door County Sheriff’s Office reporting that the incident occurred on Friday night on State Highway 42 when it was getting dark and that one of the headlights on the driver’s side of the vehicle in question was missing; But that wasn’t the most abnormal part.
According to the post, what is the solution to the vehicle’s missing headlight problem? Instead it was a flashlight positioned and pointed forward.
The Sheriff’s Office said this was an attempt to increase visibility, but that using a flashlight in place of proper headlights is neither safe nor legal.

“Headlights play a critical role in nighttime visibility and safety,” the post said. “Motorists are encouraged to regularly check their vehicle equipment before traveling.”
