Kalaburagi Lok Sabha member Radhakrishna Doddamani announced that about 2,500 food kits will be distributed to people affected by heavy rain and floods in the region in Northern Karnataka. Kits will be delivered to the beneficiaries through the regional administration on September 26th.

Mr. Doddamani said that continuous rainfall led to the overflow of Bhima and Bennethora rivers last week and forced hundreds of peasants in low areas to move to safer places. While public schools, community halls and temples are transformed into care centers to provide shelter, women, children and the elderly are given to the elderly with basic items.

Authorities were deployed to manage aid camps and to supervise security measures in Sel Hit Villages. MP, both the Karnataka government and the Regional Administration is determined to provide immediate help, he said. Instructions are already given to conduct crops and house damage research caused by rains.

Mr. Doddamani made sure that urgent steps will be taken to secure central and government funds for the restoration of roads, including other basic infrastructure damaged in national highways and floods.
