Dramatic rescue unfolds after 16 schoolchildren left stranded from ride malfunction at Sydney school fete

More than a dozen people, including 16 schoolchildren, were trapped after a vehicle broke down at a school celebration in Western Sydney, prompting rescue efforts.
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews were called to Emmaus Catholic College in Kemps Creek on Friday afternoon and discovered the vehicle was stuck in a diagonal position.
The highest point was about 4 meters above the ground, and firefighters had to use ladders to safely extricate those trapped in the vehicle.
“This is a very lucky outcome. Luckily everyone is OK,” NSW Ambulance’s Dylan Snape told the media.
FRNSW confirmed that all 20 people arrived safely and no injuries were reported.
The vehicle will be turned over to SafeWork for investigation, 7News reported.
