Driver arrested after school coach crashes with 29 children on board
The driver of a coach who fell from a highway and ended in a ditch was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving when he was not suitable for drinks or drugs.
The accident, which contains 29 school children on board and a coach traveling from the Bristol region, was close to Hampshire, A36 and M27 near Ower at 07.10 on Thursday.
A spokesman for a Hampshire Constabulary spokesman, said the children were not damaged. However, one of the four teachers suffered a small leg injury and the driver was hospitalized for minor injuries.
Berkshire, a 48 -year -old Hungerford, has been arrested since then and remained in custody.
“Today (25 September), we appeal to witnesses following a collision with a coach (September 25),” Force spokesman said.
“A school coach traveling from the Bristol region left the A36’s highway to the south and entered a ditch … Immediately after 5.10, the M27’s Ower junction and the intersection.
“Fortunately, 29 school children traveling in the coach had not been damaged. One of the four teachers on the ship suffered a small leg injury treated at the scene.
“The school was informed of the incident and contacted all parents.
“The driver of the coach, a 48 -year -old man from Hungerford, was slightly injured and was taken to Southampton General Hospital as a precaution.
“He has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving since then and stole inappropriate whistles with drinks and/or drugs. He is currently in custody.
“After the coach was completed in a complex way, the road is now reopened.”
