Driver intentionally crashes into Wood Village Chipotle, flees scene, deputies say
PORTLAND, ore. (KOIN) — Authorities say a driver who intentionally crashed into a Chipotle restaurant in Wood Village Wednesday night is at large and wanted for criminal mischief.
The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said the incident was reported at 920 NE Wood Village Dr around 7 p.m.

“According to our preliminary investigation, a person drove his vehicle in front of the restaurant. Due to damage, the restaurant is currently closed,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release. “The motive is still under investigation, but we have information to suggest this was intentional and possibly involved known parties.”
The business sustained significant damage to its facade and windows and had to close overnight. However, officials said the building’s structure remained intact and no one was injured.

“The driver backed his vehicle from the location of the collision and then left the scene,” the sheriff’s office said. “MCSO deputies are attempting to identify the driver using information provided by community members and evidence at the scene.”
No further details were immediately available.
The driver, who remains at large, is suspected of first-degree criminal mischief.
