WA’s $1.8bn hit the headlines this morning Murdoch Women and Babies Hospital It is likely to explode, with both Premier Roger Cook and Health Infrastructure Minister John Carey stating that construction cost pressures are affecting the state’s entire hospital infrastructure pipeline.
Cook and Carey made this admission as they announced another $1.5 billion injection into hospital infrastructure; of this, $500 million was allocated to the hospital construction fund, $214 million to maintenance financing, and $36.2 million to the establishment of a new office tasked with commissioning new hospital buildings.
