While drivers have been instructed to complete a task before Friday, experts advise against driving without doing so. Winter weather is coming this week with snow and low temperatures predicted.
The Met Office said the weather will be largely unstable from February 3 to 12, bringing showers or longer spells of rain across the UK. It can also be quite windy at times, especially towards the southwest. Colder conditions will continue towards the northeast and the chance of snowfall will increase with the risk of cold air moving towards the southwest. Although the probability of snowfall is higher at higher altitudes, the possibility of snowfall at lower levels cannot be ruled out. Temperatures will be near average in most areas, but will likely be cooler in the northeast. Often a strong wind will increase the feeling of cold, especially in coastal areas. As we move forward in the forecast, confidence decreases as to whether milder air from the southwest will prevail or cooler air from the east will move in more strongly.
