The Irish Government’s first charter flight from the Middle East will then land in Dublin.
It was established to bring home vulnerable Irish citizens stranded in an environment of escalating hostilities between Iran, Israel and the United States.
Three Emirates flights took hundreds of Irish citizens from Dubai to Dublin this week. Another one will land at 21.45 on Saturday.
Other Irish people have managed to find connecting flights to Ireland from Abu Dhabi or Dubai via London or Paris.
The government’s chartered flight, reportedly costing 800 euros per seat, left Oman on Saturday.
The flight, which will carry 300 vulnerable people, including children and those with medical needs, will make a single stop in Cairo.
It is expected to arrive at Dublin Airport late on Saturday night.
