DWP issues scam warning over text claiming to help with energy bills

The Ministry of Labor and Pension (DWP) called on people to be careful against the scammers of the scammers by making people as offering financial support from the government.
Due to the benefits and financial support offered from the department, it is often imitated by fraudsters who want to benefit from the financial situation of people.
The latest scam text is receiving people and invites the buyer to apply for a ‘energy support scheme’ to help high gas and electrical costs. Although there are some support with energy bills for appropriate household peoples, there is currently no plan offered by DWP under this name.
Be careful to report the department through a text they receive through the government of the government! Think of the fraud campaign. The official guidance from the program says: “Nobody is immune to the fraud. The criminals behind them target people in their online and home, usually manipulating their victims emotionally before stealing money or personal data.
“But there is something we can do. We can help protect ourselves and each other from fraud by staying awake and always taking a minute to stop, think and control when we approach.”

The warning is the second made by DWP on fraudulent texts within two weeks as the scammers continue to try and target vulnerable people.
Last month, a widespread scam attempt was made to target vulnerable pensioners because they tried to benefit from the recent changes in scammers’ winter fuel payment. Although retirees no longer need to do anything to pay the payment, many reported that he saw texts that want to send financial details before an emergency deadline to receive their payments.

Some household peoples can also benefit from the Household Support Fund, managed by local authorities. Councils have the freedom to manage how they deem it appropriate, but many provide support through energy bills through the fund. The appropriate household people should contact the authorities to apply.
