Ealing Broadway: Police issue major update on suspect after ‘pedestrians hit by car’ | UK | News

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a car crashed into several pedestrians outside a busy shopping center in west London.

It is claimed that 34-year-old Timir Ahmed Mohamed fled the scene on Ealing Broadway at around 14.30 on Saturday, leaving five people injured and three requiring hospital treatment.

London Counter Terrorism Police (CTP) carried out preliminary investigations, but officers confirmed the incident was not being investigated as an act of terrorism.

On Sunday evening, the Metropolitan Police announced that Somali-born Mohammed, of Grange Park, Ealing, had been charged with five counts of attempted murder, along with dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a breath sample for analysis and criminal damage.

The detained person is expected to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

While it was learned that the injuries were not life-threatening, 2 people who were not hospitalized were treated at the scene.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews, paramedics in rapid response cars, a volunteer emergency response team and an incident responder. “We also sent the London Air Ambulance.

“We treated three patients at the scene and took one of them primarily by road to a major trauma center. We took the other two patients to a local hospital.”
