Earthquake jolts rural Nevada near Carson City causing some damage | Nevada

On Monday, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in rural Nevada, east of the state’s capital, Carson City.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the earthquake occurred just before 6:30 p.m. It was centered 12.9 mi (21 km) east of the town of Silver Springs at a depth of 3.1 mi (5 km).
The video, shot in the town of Fallon, shows broken glass and food scattered on the floor in the aisles of a grocery store.
Trina Enloe was doing her homework in the dining room with one of her daughters when the earthquake hit.
“You could hear the roar coming before it even reached us,” Enloe said. He said the shaking continued for about a minute. The tremor knocked down some cast-iron candle holders, but Enloe suffered no cracks or damage at her Fallon home.
The USGS said some residents in nearby communities reported strong to very strong shaking and light to moderate damage.
