Marc Anthony calls Beckham family feud ‘extremely unfortunate’ but ‘hardly the truth’ as he breaks his silence on Brooklyn’s bombshell claims
Marc Anthony addressed the Beckham family drama for the first time after being dragged into an explosive fight.
The 57-year-old Latin superstar made the statement three weeks after Brooklyn Beckham, 26, posted a scathing six-page Instagram statement saying she had severed ties with her famous parents Sir David, 50, and Victoria Beckham, 51.
Brooklyn accused his mother of ‘missing’ his first dance with wife Nicola Peltz, 31, at their wedding in 2022, revealing that Anthony, who was performing at the reception, only called him on stage to announce Victoria as his dance partner.
On Monday, Anthony called the ongoing fight ‘extremely unfortunate’ and said in an interview that the way it happened was ‘far from the truth.’ Hollywood Reporter.
‘I have nothing to say about what happened to the family. They are a wonderful, wonderful family. I’ve known them since before the kids were born. I’m Cruz’s godfather,’ the singer said, referring to Brooklyn’s 20-year-old younger brother.
‘I’m really close to the family,’ he added. ‘But I have nothing to say about what happened there. It’s extremely unfortunate that it’s played out this way – but [how it’s playing out] It’s not quite real.’

Shared in multiple Instagram stories, Brooklyn claimed his parents ‘tried to ruin’ his relationship with Nicola and controlled him for ‘most of my life’.
According to Brooklyn, Anthony called her on stage during the wedding and then called Victoria to dance with him, stealing the carefully planned moment for Brooklyn and Nicola.
Reports say Anthony invited the ‘most beautiful woman in the room tonight’ to join him – and it wasn’t bride Nicola, but Posh Spice, leaving guests completely horrified.
Nicola was left distraught by Anthony’s three-minute dance to the love song he sang on stage and left the room in tears.
DJ Fat Tony, who performed at the wedding, said his family left Nicola and Brooklyn looking humiliated and went to find his new wife after the ‘awkward’ dance took place.
Unsurprisingly, the internet went crazy, turning Jennifer Lopez’s ex into meme gold as fans mercilessly roasted his unexpected role in the Beckham wedding drama.
One viral post featured a clip of Joe Biden looking shocked, with the headline reading: ‘Marc Anthony realizes he caused half the Brooklyn Beckham drama.’
Another joked: ‘If you were going to announce who the most beautiful woman at a wedding is, it’s THE BRIDE. ‘Full stop.’

A longtime friend of the family, David and Victoria reportedly bonded over their love of his music.
The trio frequently appear before each other at events, such as when David surprised Marc at the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2023.
David is also the godfather of Marc’s son, Marquitos.
In her post, Brooklyn took shots at her mother, claiming that she danced “very inappropriately” at her wedding.
‘My mother missed my first dance with my wife, which we had planned weeks in advance with a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage; “I was scheduled to have a romantic dance with my wife on the show, but my mother was waiting to dance with me instead,” he wrote.
‘He danced with me in a very inappropriate way in front of everyone. I have never felt so uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.
“We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that brought us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment,” she added, referring to the couple’s August 2025 vow renewal, three years after their original Palm Beach wedding in April 2022.

Brooklyn also claimed: ‘Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and tried to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name; This would affect me, my wife and our future children.’
“They were very insistent that I sign before my wedding date because then the terms of the agreement would start to work,” he continued.
‘My extension affected the payday and they have never treated me the same since.’
Nicola’s billionaire father Nelson has also broken his silence on the Beckham case.
The 83-year-old businessman opened up about the family drama while doing a Q&A at WSJD’s Invest Live event in West Palm Beach on Tuesday.
Nelson said: ‘My daughter and the Beckhams are a completely different story and that will not be covered here today. But I will tell you that my daughter is wonderful, my son-in-law Brooklyn is wonderful, and I can’t wait for them to have a long, happy marriage together.’
