easyJet’s ’24-hour rule’ that lowers price of holidays online | Travel News | Travel

easyJet has confirmed its ’24 hour rule’ which will save passengers money on holidays. While some customers may be unaware of the policy, this can be a useful way to cut costs.
Responding to a passenger on social media, the travel company underlined that it offers a ‘Best Price Guarantee’. In a post on X, a customer contacted @easyJetholidays to inquire about price changes he noticed before booking.
In response, a member of the airline’s social media team explained that passengers could receive a discount if they found the same holiday at a lower price within 24 hours of booking. Mirror.
The team member said in the post: “Hi Amy, thank you for getting in touch. If you can find the same holiday cheaper within 24 hours of booking with us we will make it happen. We will also give an additional discount of £5 per person (excluding babies/children free). – Dan.”
easyJet offers more information online. The website explains: “At easyJet holidays we are so confident in our great value holidays that if you find the same holiday cheaper elsewhere within 24 hours of booking we will beat it.
“We’ll apply a discount to the price of your easyJet holiday booking to cover the difference, plus we’ll give you an additional discount of £5 per person, excluding babies and children free, meaning you can book with confidence that you’ll always get the best value from us. It’s all part of our ultimate flexibility.
“If after booking you think you’ve found the same holiday cheaper elsewhere that meets the criteria, including all extras such as 23kg luggage on beach holidays, send us the details on this page and we’ll be in touch.”
On its website, easyJet said it uses dynamic pricing when selling tickets. The travel firm says: “Prices usually start low and increase as fewer seats become available. As the flight fills up, the price often increases to manage the remaining supply.”
“The airline uses algorithms that analyze historical data and current booking trends to determine the best price to fill a flight. This efficiency helps keep costs low, allowing easyJet to offer lower prices to more people. In fact, more than a third of easyJet flights are sold for less than £50.”
easyJet also offers guidance for passengers looking for the lowest fares. Customers are encouraged to ‘book early’ and ‘be flexible’. The airline also advises passengers to check in early. The website said: “Families hoping to sit together for free should check in as early as possible (up to 30 days before departure) to give the system the best chance of assigning seats together.”
