Ed Buckbee, US Space and Rocket Center Founder, Dies at 89

Ed Buckbee, who was present at the birth of the American space program and later ran the famous camp that inspired a new generation of astronauts, has died at the age of 89. Buckbee, a West Virginia native who served in the Army after college, began his career at NASA in 1961, working as a public information officer at the dawn of the American Space Age.
