Man charged with murder after four-week-old baby dies | UK | News

A man has appeared in court accused of murder after the death of a four-week-old boy in Salisbury.

Jamie Fulford, 26, of Tournament Road, appeared before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court today charged with murder and causing or allowing harm or death to a child.

The charges relate to an incident in September 2022 in which a four-week-old boy was taken to Salisbury Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the baby sadly died on September 9.

Fulford was remanded in custody and will appear at Winchester Crown Court on May 12.

The baby’s mother, 22-year-old Sophie Egerton, also of Tournament Road, was charged with causing or permitting harm or death to a child.

Egerton appeared at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court today and was granted unconditional bail.

He is due to appear before Winchester Crown Court on June 5.
