Edinburgh Airport was evacuated this evening following reports of a potentially suspicious package. A bomb squad was activated by Police Scotland and a cordon was established.

A statement from the police force included the following statements: “Edinburgh airport was evacuated as a precaution following a report of a potentially suspicious package at around 18.50 on Friday, 19 June 2026. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) is on standby and a cordon has been established around the airport.” Footage published on Fife Jammer Locations shows large crowds of passengers waiting outside the airport, who appear to have been evacuated. Edinburgh Live reports.
