POLL OF THE DAY: Does Donald Trump deserve to win the Nobel Peace Prize?

Donald Trump was able to receive the Nobel Peace Prize at the last minute after brokering the historic peace agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Both sides agreed to the first phase of the US President’s plan to halt hostilities and release hostages, paving the way for an end to the two-year war in Gaza.

Mr Trump has been longing for this prize since his election, and the Norwegian Nobel Committee will announce who will receive it tomorrow.

However, the committee held its last meeting on Monday; Therefore, the decision was made before an agreement was reached between Israel and Hamas.

Mr Trump said he ‘deserved’ the award and claimed he had ‘ended seven wars’, adding that it would be ‘a great insult’ if he did not receive the honour.

Now, in today’s poll, we ask readers whether he deserves the award, at a time when interest in the annual guessing game of who the winner will be is on the rise.

In one of two polls conducted yesterday, we asked Mail readers: ‘Should all black Britons be paid slavery reparations, as Sir Lenny Henry claims?’ Of the 66,000 votes, 97 percent said ‘no’ and 3 percent said ‘yes’.

In the other poll we asked: ‘Do you support abolishing stamp duty as proposed by the Conservatives?’ Of the 27,000 votes, 87 percent said ‘no’ and 13 percent said ‘yes’.
