The meeting between the Trinamool Congress and the full bench of the Election Commission of India ended on a harsh note on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, with both sides accusing the other of improper conduct.
While the Trinamool delegation, comprising Rajya Sabha leader Derek O’Brien, deputy leader Sagarika Ghose, MPs Saket Gokhale and Menaka Guruswamy, claimed that Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar asked them to “get lost”, poll house sources said the Commission asked Mr. O’Brien not to raise his voice.
