A North Carolina woman’s disappearance during a trip to the Caribbean island of Grenada sparked an urgent search as family, friends and loved ones pleaded for her safe return.
According to the Royal Grenada Police Force, 44-year-old Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell was last seen Wednesday in St. He was spotted at Grand Anse Beach in St. George’s, near where he was staying in the Grand Anse area.
Waddell, a physical therapist, wife and mother from the Raleigh area, is described as 6 feet tall with short blonde hair. Authorities also released a photo with pink hair while asking the public for help locating Waddell.
According to his professional website, Waddell is the founder of Movement Art Physical Therapy and earned a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Waddell went to Grenada for a vacation with another friend, according to a friend who said she had known Waddell and her husband for more than 20 years. WRAL News reported.
Waddell’s friend reportedly lost sight of her after she stayed at an Airbnb to take an online course while Waddell apparently went out for a swim.
“She was wearing her swimsuit and walked outside the Airbnb,” Amanda Romano-Harmon said, according to local media. “They had a pool overlooking the bay. Liz was just set up there to wander around the pool and her friend was doing her online course. When she finished her course she looked up and couldn’t see Liz outside, so she went out to walk around and see where she was going and saw her towel on the dock. So all we can think is she went swimming.”
The friend reportedly became increasingly worried over the next few hours, knowing Waddell didn’t have her phone with her, and eventually filed a missing person’s report.

Waddell’s husband, Cailen, was at work when he received the call about his wife’s disappearance, according to the report.
He said on social media Friday that he would travel to the area to assist in the search and urged anyone connected to the candidate to share information that could help locate him.
He also described Waddell as a good-hearted person when speaking to local Grenada media outlets.
“My wife is a loving, free-spirited person. She could make friends with anyone. She did that most of the time.” he said Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN).
Police are appealing for anyone with information on Waddell’s whereabouts to come forward and, in particular, fishermen, boat operators and residents of Grenada’s southern coastline to report any sightings that may assist in the search.

According to GBN, police officers, divers and St. An extensive search operation is underway with the help of George University students.
The U.S. State Department told Fox News Digital on Sunday that officials were aware of reports of an American citizen missing in Grenada and emphasized that the Trump Administration has no higher priority than the safety of U.S. citizens abroad.
The State Department declined to provide additional details due to privacy concerns but said it could assist families and friends in filling out missing person reports and understanding local procedures.

Aradia Fitness, where Waddell also worked as a fitness instructor, called the news of her disappearance “disheartening” in a social media post and said the community was praying for her safe return.
The Royal Grenada Police Force asks anyone with information to contact the South Saint George Police Station at 444-4454, the Criminal Investigation Department at 440-3921, the police emergency line at 911 or the nearest police station.
