Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s English neighbours reveal all about their new life in Cotswolds after couple fled the United States following Donald Trump’s reelection
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are said to be embracing life in the English countryside after moving to the United Kingdom over a year ago.
Former talk show host DeGeneres and her actress husband traded their lavish lifestyle in Southern California for a quieter lifestyle in the Cotswolds, where they own a 43-acre farm.
Locals say the American couple have adapted well to country life after moving to the property on the outskirts of the Oxfordshire town of Witney last November, often meeting neighbors at the local pub The Farmer’s Dog.
A source told People: ‘They come regularly, they are really cool and very polite. Sometimes they come on their own, sometimes with others, with their dogs.
‘One time they asked to sit at the corner table, probably because it was a little more private. Everybody knows who he is, but they don’t bother him.’
DeGeneres and De Rossi, 67, moved to Kitesbridge Farm in the Cotswolds after Donald Trump won an unprecedented second US presidency in 2024.

But DeGeneres had fallen out of public favor following allegations on her former talk show that multiple employees helped create a “toxic workplace.”
The source added: ‘[Ellen’s] Very beautiful and very realistic. Since this is a small village, of course everyone gossips, but I haven’t heard a single bad thing.’
A second local told the publication: ‘They [at our pub] last year for about an hour and we were cautious. They had a drink and left without any fuss.’
It is understood that the married couple was ‘greatly disappointed’ after Trump took office for the second time in the White House. Sources claim that they promised to ‘get the hell out’ of the US as a result. TMZ.
The publication notes that DeGeneres is among former Vice President Kamala Harris’ high-profile celebrity donors.

A person close to DeGeneres said she and de Rossi fled the United States in response to the 2024 presidential election, in which Donald Trump won a second non-consecutive term.
The comedian joked that he was “kicked out of show business” in the special, which included material on how he has been spending his time since the end of the TV show.
