Elon Musk Fires Back After Billie Eilish Calls Him a ‘Coward’ for Wealth Hoarding

Elon Musk has belatedly responded after Billie Eilish called him a “pathetic coward” for amassing a fortune during the global crisis. Last night, Musk responded to a Nov. 13 tweet summarizing Eilish’s recent Instagram Stories: “She’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.”
Eilish singled out Musk in her acceptance speech at the WSJ Innovator Awards after pointing out billionaires’ hoarding of their wealth “at a time when people need empathy and help more than ever, especially in our country.” Since the event, Musk has taken an ambitious step towards becoming the first trillionaire after Tesla agreed to an unrealistic pay package.

Eilish posted a series of infographics on her Instagram Stories sharing the ways Musk from the activist movement My Voice, My Choice is redistributing this massively high net worth. While the tech giant hasn’t technically reached that unprecedented threshold (doing so would require Tesla to increase its market cap sixfold to $8.5 trillion), the charts still present realistic options for anyone with a net worth as inflated as his.
The posts stated that Musk could end world hunger in five years by spending $40 billion every year until 2030. It could also provide universally safe, clean water for just $140 billion a year for seven years. Judging by his answer, he doesn’t seem to have any intention of doing so.
Eilish, who attended the WSJ Innovator Awards, announced that she would donate $11.5 million. Hit Me Hard and Soft tour to various organizations and charities. He gave his speech in front of several wealthy attendees, including Mark Zuckerberg, whose net worth is more than $225 billion. “There are a few people here who have a lot more money than me,” he said. “If you are a billionaire, why are you a billionaire?”
Eilish added: “We’re in a time right now where the world is really, really bad and really dark. Especially in our country, people need empathy and help more than ever. If you have money, it would be great to use it for good things and maybe give it to some people who need it.”
