Elon Musk halts plans for new political party, prioritizing business instead: report

Elon Musk’s “American Party” seems to have been on the shelf.

He said that Musk wanted to focus on his companies and avoid a party that can make voters from GOP. The Wall Street Journal reportedreferring to people familiar with their plans.

According to WSJ, Musk was allegedly working to maintain ties with Vice President JD Vance, who is considered the visible heir of the Maga movement. Outlet said technology billionaires are worried that the partners will harm their relationship with the vice president of creating a new political party.

While the plan is currently paused, Musk said that he did not officially refuse to start the American Party to his allies WSJ, and that he could visit the idea again as a 2026 Middows approach.
