NHL fan hospitalized after fall from upper concourse of Penguins’ arena

On Monday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins play St. Louis. A hockey fan was taken to the hospital after falling from the upper concourse of PPG Paints Arena during a game against the St. Louis Blues.
The incident occurred in the first period of the game in which the Penguins defeated the Blues 6-3. The unidentified man was taken to Mercy Hospital, located a few blocks from the arena.

The game was never stopped while the man was treated. Pittsburgh police told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette the man was in critical condition.
“At this time, our concerns remain with the individual and his family,” the Penguins said in a statement. he said.
Penguins star Sidney Crosby became the ninth player in NHL history to score 1,700 points, but admitted it was strange to talk about the milestone while the fan incident is still ongoing.

“When you hear something like that, it doesn’t feel right to talk about the highlights,” Crosby said. “Obviously, our thoughts and prayers are with that person and their family, and we hope they are OK.”
Penguins coach Dan Muse echoed Crosby’s words.
“We all come here for sports and games, and when you hear something like this, everything falls by the wayside,” Muse said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”
This is the third incident of this nature to occur at the Pittsburgh stadium this year.
During a Pittsburgh Pirates game at PNC Park in May, a fan fell 20 feet from the Clemente Wall onto the warning track. He remained in hospital for several days before being discharged.

On Saturday night, a worker at Acrisure Stadium suffered leg injuries when he fell nearly 50 feet while working near the scoreboard at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ field.
