Met Office issues 8-hour amber snow and power cut warning in 3 UK regions | Weather | News

The Met Office has issued a yellow snow warning for three parts of England due to the arrival of cold weather on Tuesday. The warning, which was put into effect at 11:00 on Tuesday, will last until 19:00.
While snowfall is effective in three regions of the United Kingdom, unstable weather conditions are expected to cause power outages in many regions. The Met Office explained: “Heavy snowfall is expected to move eastwards in central and northern parts of Scotland on Tuesday, turning into showers on Tuesday night. Widespread snowfall of 5-10 cm, with 15 cm in places, is expected, especially above 200 metres.” Chaotic weather is expected to continue Tuesday with other yellow snow and ice warnings for many parts of the country.
According to the National Weather Agency, travel disruptions are expected across many forms of transportation as highway delays leave some vehicles and passengers stranded and rail or air services face delays or cancellations.
The Met Office warned that rural areas could be isolated and icy conditions could lead to slips and falls. It was announced that many sidewalks and bicycle paths may become unusable if left untreated.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist Matthew Lehnert said: “The UK will continue to face a range of wintry hazards throughout this week, including low temperatures as well as showers of snow and the risk of icing for many. A number of severe weather warnings have been issued and these are likely to be updated throughout the week, so keep the forecast up to date.”
