Harry and Meghan serve food to the hungry in Los Angeles ahead of Thanksgiving

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wore caps and aprons ahead of the US Thanksgiving holiday to support a Los Angeles kitchen that is providing vital meals to those in need.

In a series of photos shared on Meghan’s Instagram stories, the couple were captured smiling as they prepared a meal at Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA).

This community-run nonprofit is dedicated to preparing and distributing meals for struggling individuals throughout the city.

Meghan was photographed wearing a white hat and black apron that featured the Archewell Foundation’s blue logo prominently.

Meanwhile, Harry, with his sleeves rolled up, was wearing an apron bearing the OBKL logo and a black cap.

In one particularly heartwarming photo, the Duchess is seen holding a child’s hand and smiling at Harry as he carefully puts the peppers into his lunch box.

Meghan captioned the pictures “show up, do good,” which is the mission of the Archewell Foundation.

A post on the Archewell Foundation website following the visit said it was “committed to putting compassion into action, serving and healing communities locally and globally.”

“As we head into the holiday season, we celebrate our employees every day to ensure no one is left behind and our neighbors’ needs are met,” the statement said.

Members of the Archewell team joined Harry and Meghan for the session, which distributed meals to community-based organizations such as Los Angeles Mercy Housing, Pico Union Project and Path, according to the website.

Earlier this month, the couple made an emergency donation to support communities affected by what the foundation called a “growing hunger crisis” during the longest U.S. government shutdown in history.

Harry and Meghan previously listed six partners receiving emergency donations through the Archewell Foundation; one of whom transferred money to families hit hardest by cuts to the federal food assistance program.

The Sussexes have previously donated to OBKLA. The charity’s kitchen is said to provide more than 20,000 meals to the local community every month with the help of volunteers.
