As polls for the 2025 assembly elections in Bihar draw to a close, all eyes are on the exit polls. The 2025 Bihar assembly election was held in two phases, November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled on November 14.

As polls for the 2025 assembly elections in Bihar draw to a close, all eyes are on the exit polls. The 2025 Bihar assembly elections were held in two phases, November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled on November 14. In the first phase of the poll, i.e. on November 6, the state witnessed a record voter turnout of 64.66 per cent for the first time in 27 years. Voter participation in the second round of voting held today, November 11, was recorded as 67.14 percent.

According to exit poll estimates, the ruling NDA is heading for a clear win in the assembly elections with 133 to 159 seats, People’s Pulse showed. Of the 243 seats to be won, NDA’s seat share is such that JD(U) and BJP are contesting 101 seats each, LJP (RV) is contesting 29 seats and HAM(S) and RLM are contesting six seats each.

In the Mahagathbandhan alliance, RJD is contesting on 143 seats, Congress on 61 seats, CPI on nine and CPI(M) on 4 seats. Meanwhile, CPI(ML)L fielded 20 candidates and Mukesh Sahani’s VIP fielded 15 candidates.

What will be Tej Pratap’s political fate?

Tej Pratap Yadav, who was expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by his father and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, is likely to lose against RJD’s incumbent MLA Mukesh Roushan.
