England Under-21s: Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott proves he will be one of Europe’s hottest properties this summer
Elliott made 18 league matches under Arne nest last season, but only two start against Chelsea and Brighton, whom Liverpool has already won.
This was the opposite of the previous season, 11 start in 34 league matches for Reds in the last campaign of Jurgen Klopp.
Elliott has scored 15 goals in Liverpool since he joined Fulham with a credit in Blackburn in 2020-21 and scored 15 goals in six years in Liverpool.
Britain under the age of 21 boss Carsley only saw Elliott’s desire to succeed this summer.
“I haven’t seen much disappointment,” he added. “What I see is determined to play and get minutes. He wants to play every game and all the minutes.
“It was definitely built in the tournament. Towards the end of the season, he couldn’t get much game time, we had to manage his minutes in terms of the amount he played and the intensity he played because he was very explosive with the way he moves and his final product.
“We are very lucky to have it.”
Brighton is linked to a move for Elliott, such as former club Fulham, and they have already signed the Spanish Fer Lopez when talking about wolves, and any fee is likely to be very high for Molineux outfit.
Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock, a part of the BBC 5 Live’s commentary team in Slovakia, believes that Elliott is doing well to ignore the future and to impress in the Euro.
Warnock, who made 67 matches after coming from the youth ranks in Anfield, said, “Will there be Liverpool next year? ‘ There is a lot of speculation about it. ” He said.
“This is not easy. There will be telephone calls with the representative who is talking, where are we going to go and what are the potential ways, will I stay in Liverpool?
“Due to the amount of game he played for Liverpool and his effect, I think we all thought that the first team would play for a long time and play.
“But Alexis Mac Allister has a World Cup winner in front of it, [Ryan] Gravenberch had an incredible season and [Dominik] Szoboszlai was brought for big money.
“This tournament replied well. Mo Salah talks about the moments in the games, and Harvey Elliott is one of these players for now. When the moment presents him, he is calm and composed.”
