Erin Patterson: Estranged husband Simon Patterson to break silence on mushroom chef killer in tell-all memoir

The estranged husband of triple murderer Erin Patterson is set to break his silence in this explosive, tell-all memoir set for release later this year.
Simon Patterson is expected to reveal his side of the horror saga that has shocked the country, including claims he tried to poison her multiple times.
The civil engineer remained largely silent for almost three years after he killed his wife’s parents, Don and Gail Patterson, and her aunt Heather Wilkinson.
They died after eating Wellington’s lethal beef studded with poisonous mushrooms at the couple’s home in Leongatha in July 2023.
Simon’s uncle Ian Wilkinson was the only surviving guest.
The upcoming book is expected to detail Simon’s experiences during the relationship; including allegations, which first surfaced in 2023, that a series of meals prepared by Patterson left him fearing for his life.
Dishes are claimed to include penne bolognese, chicken korma and curried vegetable wrap.
During pre-trial hearings, Simon said he was considering telling his story publicly, which could help the suffering community understand what happened.
“I think there are a number of reasons why this is a good idea,” he told the court.

He also requested access to full court transcripts after the trial, saying the process of dealing with the tragedy would take years.
At the trial, Simon told the jury he skipped the fatal lunch because he felt “too unwell” to attend, but legal restrictions meant he could not reveal full details at the time.
More serious allegations, including allegations that Patterson had previously tried to poison himself, were ultimately not presented to the jury after prosecutors dropped three attempted murder charges.
