In Nandyal district, Law Minister NMD Farooq assured farmers of the government’s continued support. “The government will support farmers in every way possible. I urge farmers to choose crops that can withstand water scarcity due to the El Niño effect,” he said.

Nandyal MP Byreddy Shabari emphasized the importance of scientific agricultural practices. “Farmers should rely on soil tests before selecting crops and applying fertilizers. Scientific cultivation is the key to better yields,” he said.

District collector Rajakumari advised farmers to avoid excessive use of fertilizers. “Excessive use of urea harms soil health. Balanced fertilizer application is essential for sustainable agriculture,” he said.

In Anantapur district, the festival was celebrated at Rekulakunta Agrometeorological Station under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture. Anantapur MP Ambika Lakshmi Narayana said Andhra Pradesh ranks second in the country in micro irrigation, reflecting the state’s focus on efficient water use.

Chief agronomist Dr M. Vijayashankar Babu advised farmers in rain-fed regions to adopt climate-resilient farming practices. “Farmers should select their crops according to weather conditions, use quality seeds and follow balanced nutrient management for better productivity,” he said.

The festival was also celebrated in Kadapa and Kurnool districts with the participation of agricultural officials and farmers in large numbers.
