Vinay Kulkarni murder case: Special court castigates three police officers for false testimony against Karnataka Congress MLA

A special sessions court for criminal cases against former and current MPs and MLAs has made harsh observations on three police officers who openly admitted to submitting “fake evidence” under oath before the magistrate in the murder case involving Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni, terming such action by the police officers as a “cavalier” behavior that undermines public confidence in the justice system.

The court noted that it was ironic that the state police, known nationally as highly competent and effective, were subjected to the “fire” of misconduct by some of its own officers.
