Melbourne’s anti-immigration ‘Put Australia First’ protest

Nearly 700 protesters gathered in Melbourne’s CBD yesterday for a “Put Australia First” (PAF) anti-immigration protest. Speakers at the rally, organized by figures prominent during the anti-lockdown Freedom Movement, included One Nation Senator Pauline Hanson and UK far-right and anti-Islam activist and convicted criminal Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, better known as Tommy Robinson. The latter appeared via video message admitting that his entry visa to Australia would probably never be approved.
Hundreds of Victoria Police officers were positioned around Flinders Street Station for the noon start of the rally.
