European leaders back Ukraine after Trump-Putin talks

A few European leaders promised to support Ukraine until the end of the war in Ukraine after a summit in Alaska between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On Saturday, the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, such as leaders such as the joint statement, was published after Trump’s talks with Putin.
He said that the next step should meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, and that they were ready to work towards a three -way summit with Trump and Zelenskiy.
Trump said that after his talks with Putin, Ukraine should accept an agreement to end the war with Russia.
He said that the best way to do this with the Russian leader was to go directly to a peace settlement instead of a fire fire in which Kiev and European allies opposed.
At the same time, EU Commission President Ursula von Der Leyen, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and President of the Council of Europe Antonio Costa was signed.
“Deciding in the region will be left to Ukraine. International borders should not be changed.
“We will continue to support Ukraine. We are determined to do more to keep Ukraine strong to end fighting and a fair and permanent peace.” He said.
“As long as the killing in Ukraine continues, we are ready to maintain the pressure on Russia. We will continue to strengthen the sanctions and broader economic measures to press Russia’s war economy until it becomes a fair and lasting peace.”
