A Danish lawmaker told President Donald Trump to “fuck you” during a heated recent debate in the European Parliament over the future of Greenland.

The footage shows European Parliament member Anders Vistisen making a rebuke during the session, which focused on US interests in Greenland and where Trump is in the middle of his effort to seize the Arctic region. reports.

The outburst comes as Trump continues to push the idea of ​​bringing Greenland under American control in support of what he says is a national and global security necessity.

Addressing the European Union’s legislature, 38-year-old Vistisen directly challenged Trump’s longstanding interest.

Vistisen said Greenland was not for sale before escalating his remarks with language that violated parliamentary rules.

Receiving reactions from the audience, Vistisen added, “Let me put this in words you can understand: Mr. President, fuck you.”

Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Nicolae Ștefănuță quickly intervened, admonishing the MP for his language and warning him of the consequences.

“I’m sorry colleague, this is against our rules,” said Ştefănuță.

“We have clear rules about profanity and language that are inappropriate in this room. I apologize for interrupting you. This is unacceptable, even if you have strong political feelings about this.”

After the reprimand, Vistisen completed the remainder of his speech in Danish before leaving the podium.

The incident comes as Trump renews public pressure on Greenland, a strategic Arctic region that belongs to Denmark and is a U.S. NATO ally.

Asked in an NBC interview on Monday whether he would consider using force to take Greenland, Trump said, “No comment.”

As previously reported by Fox News Digital, Trump continued to raise the issue on January 19, revealing on Truth Social that he spoke with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and agreed to further meetings in Davos, Switzerland.

“Greenland is essential to national and world security,” Trump wrote. “There can be no turning back.”

Trump is also scheduled to speak at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 21. The Greenland issue is expected to come to the agenda here.

Meanwhile, the Greenland issue has strained relations with US allies, including Canada.

Prime Minister Mark Carney underlined solidarity with Denmark and said, “We are NATO partners with Denmark and our obligations continue.” he said.
