Everybody Loves Raymond stars now unrecognizable as they reunite for sitcom’s 30th anniversary

The stars of Everybody Loves Raymond reunited for the hit sitcom’s 30th anniversary special.
While the series was watched by a peak of 20 million viewers each week, long-time fans may have trouble recognizing some of the cast today.
While some stars haven’t aged a day since the heyday of Everybody Loves Raymond, others are completely unrecognizable.
Madylin Sweeten, who plays Ray Romano and Patricia Heaton’s on-screen daughter Ally, has completely changed since her days as a child star.
Now all grown up, Sweeten has swapped her long blonde locks for a fiery red bob.
The 34-year-old actor has not acted on television for years and is currently focused on his career in the theater world.

Other characters returning for Raymond’s anniversary special include Monica Horan, who plays Robert Barone’s (portrayed by Brad Garrett) love interest, Amy.
The 62-year-old actor looks pretty much the same as he did during his days on the sitcom.
Patricia Heaton, who plays Ray’s wife Debra, also looks the same as she did 30 years ago.
The only thing that changed about the 67-year-old was his striking silver hair, no longer the reddish brown he rocked on the series.
In addition to Romano and Garrett, Sullivan Sweeten, who plays one of Romano’s twin children, also reunites.
Tragically, Sullivan’s brother Sawyer died by suicide in 2019 when he was just 19 years old.
Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle, who played Marie and Frank Barone, have also passed away since the sitcom wrapped in 2005.
Everybody Loves Raymond: The 30th Anniversary Reunion will air on November 24 from 8:00 – 9:30 PM ET/PT on CBS and Paramount+.

The cast was shot during the last season of the series in 2005.
In the special program, hosted by star Romano and series creator Phil Rosenthal, the cast will reflect on their favorite moments, episodes and share behind-the-scenes stories.
This isn’t the first time some of the former players have reunited this year.
In July, Heaton and Romano reunited at the Paley Museum in New York City to reflect on the show.
Ahead of the event, Heaton wrote on Instagram: ‘Taking some time to reflect. On the way to the Paley Center’s 30-year tribute to Everybody Loves Raymond.
‘Tonight I’ll be with my old colleagues, but more importantly, I’ll be with my old friends. The cast and crew of Everybody Loves Raymond were rare. We weren’t just spending time together; “We were telling stories, raising children, and growing in so many ways,” she continued.
‘I also remind you of the pain of those we have lost. “I know Peter, Doris, and Sawyer will share this moment with us with warmth and smiles,” Heaton lamented.
‘I’m sure I’ll be posting lots of behind-the-scenes photos this week. Pamper me. This was a great group and a great time. ‘I thank God every day for this blessing.’
Everybody Loves Raymond tells the story of successful sports writer Ray (Romano) and his wife Debra (Patricia) as they try to cope with the difficulties of living opposite their domineering Italian mother Marie, grumpy father Frank and jealous brother Robert.
Ray and Debra also had three children on the series: daughter Ally (Madylin Sweeten) and twin boys (played by Madylin’s real-life younger brothers Sawyer and Sullivan).
Patricia Heaton, who plays Ray’s wife Debra, also looks the same as she did 30 years ago, except for her silver hair

The original cast is pictured in the show’s first season in 1996.
But any hopes of a Everybody Loves Raymond reboot were recently extinguished by star Brad Garrett.
Garrett addressed the reboot rumors while attending the premiere of Disney Pixar’s Elio movie.
Garrett said the reason the show never returned was because Boyle and Roberts, who played Frank and Marie, died.
Boyle passed away in 2006 at the age of 71, while Roberts died in 2016 at the age of 90.
“There’s no show without the parents,” Garrett told People magazine.
‘They were the catalyst and doing something like that wouldn’t have been right with the audience or the loyal fan base. And it was about two families and you can’t get past that.’
