In the episode, the Duchess will focus on seasonal products and personal stories. However, some fans were not impressed by the news and criticized the Duchess on social media before the episode featuring her aired. One user wrote to X: “This will be one of the worst looks he’s ever done.”
Another said: “Thanks for the reminder, I’ll be sure to miss the episode.”
Meanwhile a third added: “Hard pass.”
A fourth commented: “I’m sure it’ll be as awful as we all think it will be.”
A fifth exploded: “I love Masterchef but I won’t watch that episode!”
In the episode, the Duchess will ask contestants to create a dish that includes a seasonal ingredient and a personal story behind it.
Available ingredients will include carrots, yams, Brussels sprouts, celery, Australian honey, macadamia nuts, quince, lemon and apple, tangerines and strawberries.
Meghan will appear alongside MasterChef Australia judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli.
The Duchess said of her appearance, according to Mediaweek: “What drew me to the kitchen of MasterChef Australia? Two things: my love of food and my love of Australia. It was an easy yes.”
He added: “These [the ingredients available] These are all things that make me feel really nostalgic.”
In a post on Instagram announcing Meghan’s entry, the broadcaster said: “The countdown is on! Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, joins the #MasterChefAU kitchen as a guest judge, bringing her love of food, fun and seasonal produce to one of the competition’s most memorable challenges. Tune in on @channel10au on Sunday 26 July at 7pm.”
