Reform UK office vandalised with ‘f**k off home’ message after by-election loss | Politics | News

The UK Reform campaign office has been vandalized after the party lost a historic by-election victory. The shutters of the Reform office in Cardiff Road, Caerphilly, were spray-painted with graffiti that read: “You can get the hell out of the house now.”

Reports say the vandalism occurred on Saturday, a day after the results of the town’s Senedd by-election were announced. Plaid Cymru won the seat with 47% of the vote, while Reform came second with 36%. The result marked a humiliating defeat for Labor, which has held the Caerphilly seat since the Senedd was formed in 1999.

Reform candidate Llyr Powell said he was “disappointed” in the defeat but “excited” to see what his party could do in the future.

As the Express reported earlier this week, billboards supporting Mr Powell’s campaign have also been targeted by vandals.

A swastika was drawn in two corners of election campaign materials on a billboard.

Ahead of the by-election vote, Mr Powell told the Express he had been “intimidated”, including by people arriving at his private home late at night, ringing his doorbell and knocking on his door until the early hours of the morning.

he said Great Britain News On the Caerphilly count: “I am grateful to every voter who went to the polls and voted for Reform despite the fear and attacks directed at them by other parties.”

Nigel Farage warned in September that Sir Keir Starmer’s accusations that Reform’s deportation policy was “racist” would lead to increased violence against his party’s politicians and councillors.

Mr Farage visited Caerphilly earlier this month to support Mr Powell’s campaign and the Reform leader’s arrival in the city raised tensions online.

Welsh Labor finished third in the Caerphilly by-election with just 11% of the vote.

Plaid leader Rhun ap Iorwerth said his party’s candidate Lindsay Whittle’s victory marked a “reset” in Welsh politics. WalesOnline.

Reform was hoping to take its second Senedd seat in the by-election.

The party’s only politician in the Welsh Parliament is Laura Anne Jones, MP for East South Wales.
