Ex-Labour councillor Oliver Steadman charged with blackmail in Westminster ‘honeytrap’ probe

After an investigation into the Westminster Honeytrap scandal, a former working council member was accused.

28 -year -old Oliver Steadman was accused of once blackmail and five -point misuse of a public telephone network.

He will go to court on November 3.

Last June, he was arrested as a part of a deputies and employees working in Westminster, called “brother” or “charlie ve and an investigation of his employees.

Malcolm Mchafie, Head of the Special Crime Department of the Crown Prosecutor’s Office (CPS), said, “We decided to prosecute Oliver Steadman about blackmail and five communication offense and a total of five victims working in politics and Westminster.

“This follows an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Service that looks at the messages containing unwanted images sent to several people in Parliamentary political circles using WhatsApp between October 2023 and April 2024.”
