A former Pentagon official who investigates unexplained anomalous events (UAPs) says newly released government documents contain evidence that the United States has long treated UAPs as a serious national security problem — including allegations involving recovered “non-human” material dating back decades.
“There is an absolute wealth of information in this second tranche of information,” Luis Elizondo said Tuesday, pointing to the latest data release allowed for publication.
Discussing the topic on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Elizondo marveled at the wealth of information that came to his attention, including top-secret intelligence dating back to the 1940s that he said “very clearly” suggested the existence of UAPs.
“The reality is that this is an issue that our government has taken very seriously for a very long time. We will go to extreme lengths to cover it up, and this administration means business,” he said.

“This administration is the first in my memory that has actually followed through on its promise to be more transparent and open with the American public on this issue,” he added.
Elizondo continued by focusing on the mysterious findings and what they suggested. He also talked about why the Pentagon may have worked so hard to keep intelligence secret for decades.
The files, dating back to the 1940s, suggest the existence of extraterrestrial material is “very real” and “certainly a national security issue.”

“These have been encountered in controlled US Airspace and frankly could outpace anything we have and still have in our inventory,” he warned.
The US government withheld such details to avoid giving “hints” to Watters, the official told Watters, arguing that geopolitical tensions during the Cold War may have been responsible for the long-standing secrecy.[ping] We do our best to give whatever technologies we can glean from it to our enemies, or perhaps hide national vulnerabilities.
“But I think times have changed, and I don’t think a lot of the old logic is valid anymore,” he said.

“I think the American people can handle the truth. I think the American people deserve the truth, and I know what I saw when I was in the Pentagon…
“I will say there are some concerns about this because you’re talking about a conversation that will require a lot of soul-searching for a lot of people. You’re talking about something that will challenge everyone philosophically, psychologically, theologically and even sociologically.”
