Police mulling polygraph tests on suspects in CPI (M) veteran leader Samineni Rama Rao’s murder case

With little progress being made in the ongoing investigation into the sensational murder of CPI (M) senior leader Samineni Rama Rao in Khammam district on October 31, 2025, the police probing the case have reportedly sought permission from the local court to conduct polygraph tests on some suspects.

Sources said the police had approached the local court seeking approval for polygraph tests to make a breakthrough in the case. Sources added that the tests will be carried out within a day or two, depending on the voluntary consent of the suspects.

The brutal murder of a senior CPI(M) leader sparked outrage with party district leaders blaming some Congress leaders for the gory murder.
