How to watch Trooping the Colour 2026 – King Charles III’s Birthday Parade | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

The annual celebration of the monarch’s birthday milestone is marked with music and military precision at the Horse Guards Parade for Colored Troops in London.

King III. When is Charles’ birthday?

The monarch’s official birthday is celebrated on Saturday, June 13, 2026. However, King Charles’ real birthday is November 14 and he was born in 1948. However, the Monarch’s birthday is celebrated in the summer on a completely different date than the actual birthday milestone.

Every year in June, Joining the Colours, also known as the ‘King’s Birthday Parade’, is held in London. It is the highlight of the ceremonial calendar, with a parade of the Colored Troops, over 1,400 officers and men, two hundred horses and the Home Division’s Mass Bands as His Majesty the King takes the salute.

What time and how to watch Combining Colors?

Broadcast of the King’s Birthday Parade will begin at 10.30am on Saturday 13 June and will be available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Clare Balding will host the livestream, Michell Ackerley will speak to those at the event and Clare will be joined by special guest Gyles Brandreth.

Hannah French’s Audio Commentary will be available on Red Button and BBC iPlayer. Additionally, live events in London will be broadcast uninterrupted and without commentary on BBC iPlayer. The day’s highlights will be broadcast on BBC Two and iPlayer from 7.05pm.

King Charles’ official birthday celebrations will include the Royal Family’s traditional appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, followed by the annual RAF flight over London skies.

This year, the Grenadier Guards will raise their colors in the presence of His Majesty the King.
