Expulsion of Rohini Acharya reflects mentality of regime known for jungle raj: BJP MP Manoj Tiwari

After Rohini Acharya disowned the Yadav family and quit politics after making serious allegations of harassment, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari on Sunday said the apparent rift within the family reflects the “mentality” of a regime that, in his opinion, allowed “jungle raj” to flourish in Bihar for years.

While dealing a harsh blow to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leadership, Tiwari said that those who aspire to rule the entire state of Bihar are no longer able to rule their own families.

Tiwari told ANI: “Rohini Acharya said that the fact that she was thrown out of the house, beaten up somewhere for asking questions reflects the mentality of the entire regime, which is known for its jungle raj.”
The controversy broke out after Rohini Acharya on Saturday alleged that she was “kicked out” from the family by Tejashwi Yadav and his close aide RJD MP Sanjay Yadav. He said he had “no family left” after the shooting.

Rohini Acharya told reporters her first reaction after being asked about the ‘shocking’ announcement she made earlier in the day: “I have no family. You can ask Sanjay Yadav, Rameez and Tejashwi Yadav. They are the ones who kicked me out of the family.”

He also claimed that the party leadership did not want to take responsibility for the election loss. “When I called out Tejashwi Yadav’s close aide Sanjay Yadav for the party’s defeat, I was thrown out of the house, humiliated, harassed and even beaten,” he added. In the last Bihar assembly elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) managed to get only 25 seats from the 243-member Assembly despite contesting in more than 140 constituencies. Earlier on November 15, Acharya made allegations against the RJD MP in a post on Acharya.

This is the second member to sever ties with the Yadavs, indicating widening cracks within the family. Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav’s elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav was expelled from both the party and the family earlier this year following an argument regarding his personal life. Tej Pratap later founded his own party, Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD).
