‘Facts of Life’ star Mindy Cohn reveals secret cancer battle and recovery

Mindy Cohn is out of the hospital and recovering after a secret battle with cancer.
The “Facts of Life” actress returned to Instagram on Sunday with gratitude for life and a message for her followers.
“I’ve been off social media for a while because I had to kick cancer,” Cohn said online.

The “Palm Royale” star rests in a hospital bed and gives the thumbs up in a photo posted on her account.
“I accomplished this with the incredible help of the staff at Providence Saint John hospital, especially my nurses Finja, Patty, and Courtney, and my hero, oncology surgeon extraordinaire @antonbilchik.”

Cohn, who gained star status for playing Natalie Green on the hit ’80s sitcom, did not reveal further details about her diagnosis.
Representatives for Cohn did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

“Thank you to my family, especially my beloved @tarakarsian @johnwstewart @gregoryzarian who have been my advocates and are ready to help me when it’s ‘my turn,'” Cohn continued.
“A few more weeks to recuperate and I’m ready for my next adventure. From now on! Damn Cancer!”
A number of stage and screen stars sent their well wishes to the actor, while Helen Hunt also sent Dr. Blilchik gave his approval.

“I love you, Mindy! We’re here whenever you need us!” Jerry O’Connell noted while Peri Gilpin wrote: “Lots of love to you, Mindy! Glad you’re recovering. Looking forward to coffee in the near future!”
Cohn previously admitted that he never started his acting career when he starred in the TV series “The Facts of Life” when he was 13 years old.

“That’s what I did after school, and then I had to come home and do four hours of homework every night,” he said Vanity Fair.
“I will tell you that as a 17-year-old, I felt like I was 40, and a lot of that had to do with the workload at school. But the preciousness of being on a TV show didn’t really hit me until then, so I guess it saved me.”

Legendary producer Norman Lear, production executive Alan Horn and “Diff’rent Strokes” actor Charlotte Rae She met Cohn while visiting his high school, the private Westlake School for Girls in Bel Air.
“The Facts of Life” is about the relationships of four girls who attend the prestigious boarding school Eastland School with their dorm mother, Miss Edna Garrett (Rae). The show ran for nine seasons from 1979-88.
