Fake Website Troubles Srisailam Devotees

– KURNOOL: Devotees at Srisailam on Sunday faced serious inconvenience due to a fake website posing as AP Tourism’s Haritha Hotel. Cyber crooks were reportedly operating the fake site last year and deceiving unsuspecting visitors.
A tourist from Bengaluru booked a room and darshan through the fake website after speaking to its operator over the phone. He paid 15,950 Indian rupees through PhonePe and even received a booking receipt. Assuming it was legitimate, he came to Srisailam on Sunday.
However, when he approached Haritha Hotel, the staff informed him that the invoice was fake and the booking was not made through the official AP Tourism portal. Due to heavy rush and lack of available rooms on Sunday, tourists faced serious inconvenience and inconvenience.
Several other devotees also struggled amidst the huge crowd, spending long hours verifying reservations and searching for accommodation.
Haritha hotel manager Pawan said that they had lodged a written complaint with the Srisailam police in February about the fake website. He advised devotees to be careful and use only the official AP Tourism website for bookings.
