Fans rage after Meghan Markle ‘copies’ Prince William on huge debate | Royal | News

He made the statement during an interview with Cornwall’s Heart Radio last Friday. She told Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston: “I love that I’m the authority on scones.
“I can only tell you what I learned from my grandmother. She would definitely do it too, she would put the cream first. First the cream, then the jam on top.”
On Saturday, Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever shared a new clip on its Instagram page, featuring a recipe for “hot muffins” with “Strawberry or Raspberry Crunch, Orange Blossom Honey, and Floral Sprinkles.”
As is traditional with English muffins, the recipe did not include any clotted cream, instead using “raw cream”, a coincidence that many fans noticed and took to social media to criticize the duchess.
One user wrote on Reddit: “Oh my god: THIS, just days after Prince William said the late Queen put clotted cream on her scones before jam, like she always did THIS.”
The latter commented: “At this point, if William says the Queen prefers Evian, he will be bathed here by Thursday.”
A third said: “This is beyond cosplay. We all heard Prince William say his grandmother put the cream first. Who does he think he’s kidding?”
Meanwhile, someone else posted on X: “Meghan Markle is copying the Royal family as always, she’s not Royal.”
A fifth added: “This is getting so weird.”
While the Duchess was teasing the brand’s next big launch, fans were predicting it would be a new matchbox.
A photo shared on the brand’s page shows an As Ever candle sitting on what looks like a mantel, next to a vase full of flowers and a teapot. But the candle isn’t the only As Ever product pictured; A brand new matchbox is placed right next to it.
The matchbox bears the As Ever logo and is thought to be the next product to be launched on the website, with the following message alongside the image: “A little spark, it will come tomorrow [candle emoji].”
As Ever’s matches will be available for purchase sometime today.
