Farage: Lowest paid workers ‘better off’ if they claim to have anxiety | News

Nigel Farage has claimed low-paid workers are “better off” if they claim they have concerns.
Holding a news conference in London on Monday (3 November), he said that the UK is in an “economic mess” and outlined Reform UK’s monetary policies if the party wins the next election.
Speaking specifically of benefits, he claimed the aid bill had “swelled to over £300bn”, saying it was “more than the combined cost of the NHS and defence”.
“So things aren’t going well, the job isn’t even paying. Millions of our lowest-paid workers would be better off if they could just claim to have mild anxiety. That’s the level of mess we’re in,” he said.
Under the government’s current Personal Independence Payment (PIP) eligibility criteria, a person can claim the mobility part of PIP if they have difficulty getting around due to a cognitive or mental health condition such as anxiety.
