Two Indian tourists sentenced to jail for robbing, assaulting sex workers in Singapore hotels

Two men from India, accused of robbing and attacking two sex workers in the hotel rooms while holiday in Singapore, were sentenced to five years and one month in prison with 12 strokes on Friday, October 3.

Arokkiyasami Daison (23) and Rajendran Mayilasan (27) were found guilty of voluntarily hurting while robbing the victims, Bosphorus times.

The court heard that Arokkiyasami and Rajendran came from India to Singapore on April 24th for a holiday. Two days later, while walking in the Little Indian region, an unknown man approached them and asked if they were interested in hiring prostitutes for sexual services.

The man then gave contact information for two women before leaving.

Arokkiya said that they needed Rajendran and had contact with women and suggested that they should rob in a hotel room accepted by Rajendran. They arranged to meet one of the women in a hotel room around 18:00 that day.

After entering the room, they tied the victim’s hands and legs in clothes and slapped him. The jewels of the jewels, SGD 2,000 (La 137677.44) in cash, robbed his passport and bank cards.

Arokkiyasami and Rajendran’s actions appeared when the second victim trusted another man the next day when he wanted the police to be called.

Arokkiyasami, while talking through a interpreter, “My father passed away last year. One of the three married sisters and I have no money. So we did this.” Rajendran, “My wife and child in India alone and financially suffering,” he added.

According to Singapore Daily’s report, those who voluntarily injured during a robbery may be sentenced to five to 20 years of imprisonment and may encounter at least 12 strokes cane.
