Festivalgoers have revealed their most anticipated moments, from finding a freshly cleaned toilet and a queue-free bar tent to striking up a random three-day friendship.

In a survey of 1,500 festival fans, their standout memories include a surprise guest appearing on stage, finally hearing the song they’ve been waiting to hear live all weekend, and the crowd singing along. Watching the sunset and waking up to music were also chosen as their favorite moments.

More than two-thirds said festivals had created some of the most memorable moments of their lives, while 47% agreed that being able to record the moments on their phone made the experience complete.

The research was commissioned by Samsung UK and Ireland to celebrate the launch of the Galaxy A57 5G, which includes features such as Object Eraser and Edit Suggestion to help festival attendees capture, edit and share the moments they care about most.

The research found that 20% of participants shared their favorite festival moments on social media within 24 hours, and 82% said capturing content helped them relive the experience after the event was over. But 25% said they wished their phones had a feature that could eliminate photobombers and background distractions.

It’s not all smiles for modern festival goers, as experiences can quickly be ruined by common technical issues. Running out of battery, accidentally falling into a muddy puddle, and running out of storage space were among the biggest killers of the festive mood.

Meanwhile, 15% admitted that their biggest frustration during the festival season included realizing photos and videos weren’t coming out properly.

A quarter said they would enjoy a festival less if they couldn’t watch it again later; many people relived their memories by rewatching videos or looking at photos.

Long battery life (55%) and durable design (32%) for shooting and sharing all day long were among the most useful phone features for sharing festival moments.
