Firefighters hurt after van explodes in Bronx, New York City

Multiple firefighters were injured when a burning car exploded in a massive explosion in New York City on Wednesday evening, a police spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
The explosion originated from a vehicle at 7:13 p.m. in the mixed residential and commercial district of the Bronx near Fox Street and Westchester Boulevard, authorities said.
Three FDNY firefighters were transported to local hospitals in stable condition, police said. New York Post He stated that six responders were injured.
A video posted on social media showed flames erupting near what appeared to be a white commercial van, moments before a large fireball and clouds of smoke rose several stories into the air.

Numerous smaller explosions were also captured on camera, lighting up the night with sharp explosion sounds and electric sparks shooting into the night sky.
The cause of the explosion remains unclear.

The fire was reported to be under control at 8:19 p.m., NYPost reported, citing authorities.
